湘南自然薯栽培その３

先月に定植したサツマイモ畑が梅雨の合間に草茫々になっていました。4日間かけて草刈と草取りをしてやっとサツマイモの苗が現れました。晩秋のファームビジットで芋掘りを行って貰う予定です。
The sweet potato field where we planted last month became overgrown with weeds during the rainy season. After 4 days of mowing and weeding, the sweet potato seedlings have finally appeared. We plan to have the participants digging up the sweet potatoes during the farm visit in late autumn.

毎年恒例の平塚の七夕祭りに留学生達をご案内しました。外国人向けの日本語能力検定試験が同じ日に開催されたため、昨年に比べて参加者が半減しました。
Guided international students to the annual Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival. The number of participants was halved compared to last year because the Japanese Language Proficiency Test for foreigners was held on the same day.

5月初めから始まった自然薯の定植、支柱建て、ネット張りそして白黒マルチの布設と畦上のマルチ接続がやっと終わりました。今後の圃場内の草取りは基本的に不要になります。
The planting of Japanese yams, erecting the posts, laying the net, laying the black and white mulch, and connecting the mulch on the ridges, which began in early May, are finally finished. From now on, not need to weed the fields.

Ｓさんから分けて貰ったサツマイモの苗を第四圃場北側の畑の3畦に植えました。苗は鳴門金時と安納芋です。無事に活着して欲しいです。Ｍさんの紅芋はうまく育苗できずに植えることが出来ません。
Planted the sweet potato seedlings I received from S-san in three rows in the field on the north side of the fourth field. The seedlings are Naruto Kintoki and Annou Imo. Hope they take root safely. M-san's purple sweet potato seedlings are not growing well and could not plant them.

第四圃場の斜面上に植えたベルガモットが花盛りです。約2週間ほど毎日楽しめます。
The bergamot planted on the slope of the fourth field are in full bloom. They will be beautiful every day for about two weeks.
