伊豆湘南自然薯栽培その２

学生時代の先輩４名（広島、岐阜、厚木、立川から）が伊豆旅行のついでに河津圃場に立ち寄って自然薯の試し堀りを体験していただきました。土を払いパイプを持ち上げるだけなのでほんの数分で自然薯は掘り上がります。1.1kgと900gの大きな薯が掘れました。平塚圃場で採れた黒枝豆も試食して頂きました。その後、踊り子の宿で有名な福田家に案内しました。
Four friends from Hiroshima,Gifu,Atsugi and Tachikawa took an overnight Izu tour and visited our farm in Kawazu.They are seniors in college days.They experienced digging Japanese yams for their first time.It takes only a few minutes to dig out a yam lifting a pipe containing a yam after removing crays over the pipe.Two yams are 1,100g and 900g in weight larger than expected.They tasted black soy beans from Hiratsuka farm. I guided them to Fukudaya,Japanese inn, famous for the stage of the novel of "Izu dancing girl ". Yasunari Kawabata,Nobel prize winner for literature, stayed this inn for several times.
