Sports Festival Day!

Good afternoon!
How is everyone’s weekend going?

Yesterday I went to a sports festival. My younger son is attending a daycare and they held the event. It was in the Shonan-Kaigan Koen. I think that’s the right name.

The weather was very nice. It was mostly sunny all morning and early afternoon. Although it wasn’t too hot, I think I got a little sunburnt on my head. Oh well.

The kids seemed to enjoy it and of course the parents too. There were a few interesting events near the end of the event where some parents joined the children. One event had only the parents having a tug-of-war (The English name for the game of pulling a rope). It was funny to watch because many of the parents became quite serious about winning. There’s a photo of the adults tug-of-war. Haha!

I hope you’re having a nice weekend. Take care and don’t get sunburnt!
Thanks for reading.

Pineapple Typhoon

Good evening everyone!

Well, I guess it’s not that good. There’s a typhoon (taifuu) blowing through the city right now. The weather could definitely be better. I hope you’ve got everything locked up and you don’t have to venture outside tonight.

Yesterday I went out for a bit of shopping. I purchased some shelves for my home office, finally. Most of the day was spent trying to accomplish the mission of organizing the office. It’s finally finished… at least for now. Everything has been cleaned and put in its proper place. I actually have space for all my books, DVDs, files, supplies and other items that were in boxes or unorganized. Yay!!!

After shopping, building shelves, cleaning and organizing all day I wasn’t in the mood for cooking. So we went to the local Kozosushi (spelling?) and got our supper. There’s a picture over there. I got the maguro set. Mmmmmm… it was tasty.

Today was a bit more relaxed. I read a book, practiced some Kanji, finished some paperwork, did some cleaning and made dinner. After dinner I was feeling ambitious so I cut up a pineapple for dessert. There are a couple of pictures of it. It took about 15 minutes to cut and set up and about 2 minutes for everyone to eat it (maybe less to eat). Oh well, at least it was enjoyed.

That’s all for tonight. Tomorrow I’ll have to go to work in the morning and I really hope the weather has calmed down by then. Take care and have a great night!

Blah blah Friday

Hello!

Well, the verdict is in. New bedding is awesome!

Today it was very very windy. I took my bike to work at Bois Colombes and it wasn’t easy. The wind was coming from the North, which also happens to be the direction I was heading. It was a good workout but I’d rather not have to do that again. Usually you can coast for a while if you stop pedaling, but today if I stopped pedaling I would come to a stop very quickly.

Tomorrow I’m not sure what will happen. I have to skype with some people in Canada in the morning (Canada is now 16 hours behind Japan time). The time change can make it a bit tricky. So if it’s 10 am on Saturday in Japan, it’ll be 6pm on Friday in Canada. After the skype session I’ll probably go shopping, yay!! (sarcasm). We need another shelf to put away the last items that haven’t yet found a permanent home since we moved. It will be nice to finally have that finished though.

I hope the weather is fair tomorrow and that you all have an enjoyable weekend. Hopefully the wind will be calm. Take care!

Dreamtime

Good evening! How’s it going?

I’ve returned home from tonight’s Funglish classes with a smile on my face again. Thank you lovely students!

Today some new futons were delivered to my home. The old ones had become flat and uncomfortable. When I awoke in the morning it felt like someone had punched me in the back. Can’t wait to try them out! I expect to wake fully refreshed and ready to go. New bedding is awesome… that is all.

Now I’m listening to an old song and typing up this blog. It fills me with nostalgia as I am reminded of my teenage years and wind down to go to sleep. It’s funny how a song can do that isn’t it? The song is called “Dreams” and the band is “The Cranberries.” Check it out. It’s required listening. If you can listen to the entire song and not feel good then there’s something wrong with you, haha.

Well, thanks for reading. I’m gonna go test out the new futon and maybe I’ll post my verdict tomorrow. Goodnight all!

Good Evening

Well hello there!

I’ve been absent from this blog for a while so I apologize for that. Life continues on and is busy. How have you been?

It was a windy, rainy, chilly day today. It feels like the weather is starting to turn to autumn again. Personally I don’t mind as I enjoy the temperature a lot more during the fall. The heavy rain can make things tricky though.

I had to replace my bicycle last week. The old jitensha just didn’t have any more to give. So now I have a new shiny bike to get around on and everything works great! On the old bicycle the chain liked to come off at bad times (like when I was trying to go to work) and the tires suddenly became flat. It’s nice to go somewhere and not have to think about these problems.

I also watched a new movie last night. I had some free time so I watched ‘The Avengers’ with my boys. It was a really good action movie, so if you like those types of movies you should definitely see it. It has already been released on DVD in North America and Europe so I was able to download it online. I wanted to see it in the theatre in Hiratsuka but I just didn’t have time so I had to settle for watching it on my computer. It was enjoyed by all and the boys were pretending to be superheroes afterwards, which was pretty funny to see.

I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the end of the summer season. Are you keeping busy these days?

Thanks for reading and see you again soon!
